About the Speaker:
Thomas Lohmann
Director Operations Area 7
National Insurance Crime Bureau
Thomas Lohmann is the Director of Operations for the National Insurance Crime Bureau Area 7 Field office in New York. Prior to assuming the position of Director Mr. Lohmann served three years as the Lead Agent in charge of the NICB New York Medical Fraud Task Force, which is comprised of NICB Special Agents and Special Investigators from the Insurance Industry. Mr. Lohmann has supervised investigations into medical provider fraud under the New York State No-Fault statute, staged and caused accident rings, auto theft and enhanced damage rings and various other insurance fraud related investigations.
His past experience includes 20 years with the New York City Police Department, 15 years as a Detective. During his career Mr. Lohmann spent 13 years investigating organized crime while assigned to the Queens County District Attorneys office and the Organized Crime Investigations Division. He retired from the Brooklyn Cold Case Homicide Squad in February 2002.
Mr. Lohmann has served on the Board of Directors for numerous fraud fighting organizations including NYACT, NE-IAATI and the New York State Department of Criminal Justice State-Wide Group.
