Michael J. Mansfield, Commissioner, City of New York Business Integrity Commission

Mike Mansfield began his law enforcement career in 1979 with the New Haven Connecticut Police Department after having graduated with honors from Long Island University with a degree in Criminal Justice. He subsequently entered the Quinnipiac University School of Law where he was associate editor of its Law Review and graduated with honors in 1984 with a Juris Doctor degree. Following graduation, Mike became an Assistant District Attorney with the Queens County District Attorney's Office in the City of New York. He rose through the ranks holding a number of management positions including Deputy Bureau Chief of the Rackets Bureau, Chief of the Public Corruption Bureau, Chief of the Civil Enforcement Bureau, Chief of the Arson and Economic Crimes Bureau and Deputy Executive Assistant District Attorney where he was responsible for the office's Investigations Division. In August of 2002 he was promoted to the position of Executive Assistant District Attorney for Operations where among his other responsibilities, he directed the offices Counterterrorism initiatives and its Witness Protection program.

In August of 2007 Mayor Michael Bloomberg appointed him Commissioner and Chair of the New York City Business Integrity Commission (BIC). The mission of BIC is to eliminate organized crime, corruption and other forms of criminality in the City's trade waste industry, public wholesale markets and the shipboard gaming industry.

Additionally, Mike served on the Board of Directors of the New York City Off-Track Betting Corporation, currently serves on The Advisory Board of the Queens College Continuing Education Program, is an Adjunct Professor for the City University of New York at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, a member of the faculty of the National College of District Attorneys and a frequent lecturer, both here in the United States and internationally in the areas of white collar crime and financial fraud.
