Dear NYC Chapter Members, Friends, Colleagues and Associates,

It is with much pleasure that I bring great tidings to you about the plans we have in store to celebrate “Our Next 50 Years of Excellence” and dedicated service to the security community as an ASIS International Chapter.

Last year, on September 20, 2006, our NYC Chapter achieved a most notable milestone.  It was our 50th year of service to the security community.  In celebration of this achievement and in acknowledgement of your loyalty to the work we have provided to the security industry through education, networking opportunities, special events and the development of effective relationships, the elected Officers and the Advisory Board have approved a Gala Dinner Celebration Fundraiser event to be held on Thursday, January 24, 2008.  In conjunction with this happy celebration of our half century status, we hope to offer much more to our community by benefiting a very good cause.  At this black tie, formal affair we will be raising funds, with your help and support, for the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP).  The WWP (www.woundedwarriorproject.com) provides many support services and various opportunities to our wounded veteran service men and women who have come home from the war in the Middle East.

It is my most sincere and fervent hope that each of you will participate in our desire to acknowledge our outstanding Chapter’s accomplishments by “giving back” in large measure for all of the things that you have all helped this Chapter stand for: hard work, integrity, value, success and hope.

As your Chapter Chairman, I am humbled by so many of you, an outstanding group of honorable people, who genuinely care about security in our communities, our country and the world.  I have had the pleasure of meeting many of you in person and genuinely hope to meet many more.  You have made our NYC Chapter the number one chapter in the world.  I am confident that you will do all that you can by reaching deep into your souls, hearts and pockets to help the wounded warriors as we celebrate our next 50 years together.

As President John F. Kennedy stated, “ ... ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country”.   It is my sincere belief that all of you will apply this value to our wounded warriors.
