Chairman's Message
Two years has
compressed
into a minute!
It feels as if I
wrote my first
Chairman’s
message in
Security
Director, just
moments ago.
During this eventful 24 months, we
have continued to grow as a Chapter
and do more amazing things each
year!
When we meet for our annual Holiday
Cocktail Reception in December
this year, we will again be at the New
York Athletic Club (NYAC). The Club
has proven an excellent venue for our
on-going CPP Review Course and
now for special ASIS International
NYC Chapter meetings as well.
Our October 20, 2006 luncheon, with
special guest speaker Congressman
Peter King and guests from ASIS
International Headquarters, was so
well attended at NYAC, that all 300
reserved seats were filled. Attendees
had a clear view of beautiful fall
colors in Central Park as a backdrop
for the each part of the presentation,
so no one could be disinterested.
We expect that Pete King will be
returned to the House of Representatives
by his Long Island constituents
and hope that he receives the same
enthusiastic support he garnered
from our membership. As head of the
Congressional Homeland Security
Committee, King serves as an ally
to security professionals throughout
the region.
Recently, we have incorporated the
leadership of other ASIS Chapters in
our region into many of our activities,
meetings and events. It is clearer now,
than ever before: our strength in serving
you and addressing significant industry
issues, doesn't stop because we reach
a tunnel or bridge entrance. I look
forward to the continued partnerships
and joint activities that augment the
value of ASIS membership for all
of us.
This season, why not get someone
you know to join ASIS International's
NYC Chapter. We say "do it" many
times, but now is a time to make a
commitment, so you don't have to
hear about how the DC Chapter is
still larger! ASIS membership is open
to a wider variety of professionals
than ever before. Bring a friend onto
our team!
I look forward to continuing to be
involved with the Chapter long after
my tenure as Chairman ends in 2007.
Thank you for making it an exciting
and worthwhile adventure!
