From the Editor's Desk
Welcome to our Summer 2006 Edition!
Take a moment -review those photos
from the June Golf Outing and our
May SECURITY 2006 EXPO and
SOLUTIONS Show. We bet you will
recognize many of the faces. And we
hope you took these opportunities to
meet security professionals who’ve
recently joined ASIS International’s
NYC Chapter, and are helping us
grow each year.
In this issue you’ll find a guide to
developing an Evacuation Action
Plan for your building(s), a review of
the Trade Show and Golf Outing, and
some useful Counter-Terrorism information.
To boot, the CPP Review
course is coming up for October.
As you know the NYC Chapter sponsors
a CPP Review Course at reduced
cost. Why not get this credential
under your belt. It will take a little
time to get your CPP application
processed through ASIS headquarters.
So do it now.
Perhaps you recall back in 1996,
when our Chapter first made a
commitment to supporting the CPP
certification in earnest. In those days,
few HR directors knew what CPP
stood for. Now, we see HR professionals
asking for CPP designations
as a basic requirement for top jobs.
You can arrange to take the actual
CPP exam at any Kaplan testing center.
There is one right in NYC and
others through the metro area. Make
the CPP designation yours! Sign up
for the October course and:
- You save $200 OFF THE FEE that
ASIS International headquarters
charges for the EXACT SAME
COURSE.
- It’s taught by the exact same professional
instructors! You get the
COMPLETE STUDY GUIDE and
TEST TAKING PREPARATION!
- This year the CPP Review Course
will be held at the New York Athletic
Club (NYAC) on October 20 and 21,
2006. It’s only $475.00.
Get details by e-mailing to CPP
Committee Chairman Tom M. Deitzel
CPP, at: tdetzel@kpmg.com.
In a more global vein, the Chapter’s
June 19th presentation: “Masters of
Counterterrorism” conducted at
NYAC, was very well attended.
