Presenter: Edward Levy, Director of Security, Empire State Building Company, LLC. Ed was also the Global Director of Security at Pfizer and Security Director for CIT.

PROTECTING YOUR PRODUCTS & BRAND IN A GLOBAL ECONOMY

Companies face threats securing raw materials, during manufacture and distribution, in marketing, retailing and even in product consumption. Threats emanate from theft, counterfeiting, contamination and diversion. And, there are major differences between: “Manufactured by…” and “Distributed by….” Find out how an industry leader developed multi-tiered strategies utilizing state-of-the- art technology/biometrics, RFID and GPS to reduce/mitigate threats and protect their brand while adding value to the business.

Presenter: Richard E. Widup, Jr., CPP, is the Senior Director, Security Operations for Purdue Pharma, L.P. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner. Richard was a special agent with the FDA Office of Criminal Investigations and was part of Pfizer’s global security team before joining Purdue.

MENTORING 21 CENTURY STYLE

The next generation of security professionals may not be from ‘around the corner’ –more likely from ‘around the globe’. They don’t have the same world view as those of us who grew up before 1980. [And they were digitally savvy by 5 years old.] Our challenge: to incorporate a new level of diversity; figure out how to share knowledge so it “sticks”
across cultures and encourage professionals who can build on what we’ve done, even though they may do things differently. How not to get frazzled and upset by these changes… Why it’s important? The future is here!

Presenter: Steven Harper, CPP, Vice President of Battery Park City Authority. Steve has successfully incorporated meeting the complex challenges of managing one of the largest most diverse areas of Manhattan, that incorporates commercial, residential and park acreage under one operating authority.

The industry’s role has grown, but the challenges have grown exponentially! We’re seeing: diminished margins in the face of higher client service demands; more complex regulations; national vs. regional competition –What approaches are going to be work in the coming decade?

Presenter: Mario J. Doyle, CPP, Vice President of INTEGRATAS (and ASIS Regional VP.) Mario will share input some of the tough obstacles and strategies for growing a regional business in competition with international players.
