ASIS NYC Chapter Members,

It is my honor and goal to guide our Chapter to new heights, while remaining grounded enough to acknowledge and remember why we come together every month. Your Board takes seriously our duty to provide members with meaningful information to broaden their knowledge base and give us all an edge within the industry. We’re realizing these goals through tried-and-true delivery models as well as newer initiatives. We’ll continue to deliver the Career/Job Postings notices sent via email since this has become one of our most successful and celebrated programs. Further, we enter year 21 of the largest regional security tradeshow (The ASIS NYC Security Expo) offering training and networking opportunities. Lastly, our monthly meetings will be focused on learning and development. Upcoming speakers from both public and private sectors will focus on best practices, partnering and the latest technologies.
As I write this message to you, the Board and volunteers are working on new additional activities. We are building a formal partnership with ASIS International for assistance with Security Expo management so, that although the Expo will remain NYC Chapter’s, we are tapping into the International’s staff expertise and advertising savvy to enhance the show. Our goal is to have a dynamic, bigger show while highlighting all our local members and supporters. Also, a November workshop is in the planning stages. We’ll focus on training and development delivered over several hours by industry experts. Finally, the Chapter will launch web site advertising to promote a long-standing and expanded website that can deliver more resources for members.
I am excited by these opportunities. My goal is to lead us to new heights by creating long-term sustainable partnerships and programs that meet members’ dynamic expanding requirements now and will continue to do so for years into the future. Thank you for your support; I look forward to a successful 2011 and well beyond for our Chapter.
