Lawrence F. Loesch

Dear Friends and Colleagues:

When New York Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly swore me in as the New York City ASIS Chapter Chair earlier this year, it reinforced the pride I feel as part of the security infrastructure privileged to be serving the greatest city in the world. We are all committed to preserving, protecting and defending New York to ensure its rightful place as a global leader in commerce and tourism.

Everyone's contribution is crucial in ensuring that our community thrives as we face volatile economic times. In my former role as Deputy Chief for the NYPD and my role today in the private security sector as Vice President/General Manager of NYC at AlliedBarton Security Services and serving you now as ASIS Chapter Chairman, I have lived through many ups and downs in the economy. It's no surprise that a weakened economy translates to more misdeeds and crimes perpetrated by both internal and external forces. Keeping companies safe and secure during volatile economic times requires the partnership of law enforcement and security professionals. Communication is key. Your input is essential to our chapter and to our continuing education as security leaders. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly at larry.loesch@alliedbarton.com.

The membership of the New York Chapter of ASIS International represents the entire spectrum of security professionals with several hundred security contractors and practitioners from the New York City metropolitan area. It is a forum that brings together security professionals to further common goals and share experiences and best practices. Corporate security professionals, including many Fortune 500 companies and the providers of security services, as well as Federal, State and local law enforcement are involved in our Chapter. My commitment during my tenure will be to drive activities and member services that grow membership and enhance our security community.

If you have not joined already, be sure to sign up on the ASIS NYC mailing list to receive luncheon announcements, chapter news, online copies of our Security Director magazine, and other notices of major events and news that affect the security industry.

I look forward to seeing you at the 2009 ASIS NYC Security Solutions Expo at the Jacob Javits Convention Center on April 30th 2009 and the ASIS NYC Chapter Annual Golf Outing in Sands Point on June 8th 2009. Thank you for your support.

Regards,

Lawrence F. Loesch
